In the blink of an eye… all things change.
Yesterday was one scary day. I was running an errand with my 5 year old daughter. As we pulled out of the parking spot at the store, and started to make our way to the light, I noticed that the brakes were not working properly. When three people walked in front of us to get to their car – trusting that our car would be able to brake – I had to shift the car into neutral and pull up the emergency brake to prevent hitting them. We could not have been driving faster more three mph. Yet I had no control and could not stop the car once it started moving. Truly scary.
Daughter & I were 25 minutes from home, with only major street or interstate driving to get us there. I am appreciatitve that this malfunction was found in a parking lot – not the highway. I am thankful for the family and friends – and the tow truck driver – who all helped in this pinch of a moment.
Daughter safely sleeping in her bed. Car in shop.
A blink, and now its over.
